Chapter 8 - The Final Showdown

Michael, Elizabeth and the entire team was there. Mic, along with the field agents went in and Elizabeth was heading the team outside which was in charge of monitoring the movements of the persons in the building. "I give you the go and take the entire building down, follow my lead" said Mic and the attack team was off. 

The brothers who had men on the force were aware of this move, but the information reached them so late, that they were already surrounded.  After a lot of hustle and bustle, it was left with the scene that brothers were in the gun point of Mic. "You killed an innocent family, you sons of guns" yelled Mic.

"Send in a medic team, for we have David wounded" said Mic and there was a med team summoned. "You know, i would love to kill you bastards here but it is a pity, that I cant" growled Mic. Michael wanted to know why the brothers used Robert to kill him. When these were happening, a doctor came in. "Only you doc?" asked Mic. "I was only available on the short notice".

Mic watched the doc dressing up David and he had a feeling that he had seen him before. "have we met before" he asked but the doctor denied it. "This should do it" said the doctor finishing up with the bandages and when he got up, he knocked Michael down and said "Hello Mic, Am doctor Abraham Jones the last of the brothers and I lied before, yes we have met".

Michael's head started to ache, as he hit it in the wall when he collapsed by the sudden attack. Now I ll give you all the answers my dear boy, said Tony and got up to his feet. We staged the escape of Robert and wanted him to finish you, because we told him that you killed his wife in the attempt to catch David and it was Abraham who was actually responsible for the death of his wife, we did not need him after your death and so decided to take him off after he kills you.

"It gives me a great pleasure to kill you with my own hands and with the whole family here, the set up is perfect" said David. David got the rifle from Abraham and went for the trigger. A shot was heard. Blood was seen through the shirt and David was on the floor, he was dead. "One step and I ll blow your brain off, you son of a bitch" shouted Elizabeth. She gave Mic a gun and retrieved the one from the brothers. She was in tears.

"What is the matter?" asked Mic and she said the man she with whom she was going to spend the rest of her life was lying dead on the floor. Michael was startled and asked for an explanation. She replied that she was lied to, as David told he was a business man and she was in love with him. She did not like to continue, she called for back up and fled the scene. 

Just before the rest of the scene were there, the rest of the party was also dead and Mic was lying in the corner of the room.  He testified as they were going to kill him and he shot them to save himself. After the case, Mic quit the force for good and went back in search of some peace.

After 6 years, Michael was in a bar drinking whisky and he heard a voice, "Mic, is it you?" He turned to see Elizabeth. They moved to a table and ordered some wine. Mic came forward and asked "I know this is out of the blue but, may be sometime you want to get some coffee?" and she replied "I would love to". After quite a bit of chatting, Mic got up to leave and Elizabeth caught his hands and asked, "How were they going for your life when you were the only one with gun in the room?" and Mic said "They deserved to die and that is all you need to know".
